Pickett Educational Resources LLC in conjunction with the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn is proud to introduce a series of Archaeological classes for children. Taught by a professional archaeologist, these classes are designed to improve students’ skills in logic, interpretation, research, and problem solving while giving them the opportunity to work together in groups. All classes meet the South Carolina Social Studies Academic Standards.

Camp Dig-It in the Classroom
Camp Dig-It in the Classroom is an extension of the shorter Camp Dig-It program and is designed for students ages 7-9. In class students will get an introduction into the field of archaeology and get to excavate a simulated site in dig boxes.

Digging Up the Past
Digging Up the Past is for older students ages 10-13 and is more in depth and involved than Camp Dig-It in the Classroom. It is a four part series of fun and interactive archaeology classes, which starts with Part I, Archaeological Methods.
